Isaiah 22:3
Before the missiles were shot at nuclear sites in Iran, I was asking God what He thought about what was happening and where we needed to be when it came to navigating all the craziness, the uncertainty, that is being faced all over the Earth in these days.
He gave me a scripture. Isaiah 22:3 – “All your leaders have fled together, they have been captured without using the bow. All you who were caught were taken prisoner together, having fled while the enemy was still far away.”
This is a scene where the leaders of Israel, the people of God, flee long before they engage the enemy. The leaders of God’s people are filled with fear and instead of seeking God and standing firm in who they know, they try to figure out the best strategy and run. It doesn’t say this clearly in scripture, but I believe that this was written to illustrate that when we try to figure out what to do on our own power and with just our own minds without seeking counsel with God, or remembering what He has told us before, we will find ourselves captured by the enemy without even having had a battle.
Right now, I believe God wants the leaders that He has appointed to shepherd His people, the people of God, to stand firm in what they have been told by God. That if they need a refresher, to remember what was said, to go to Him humbly and seek Him because He will be found. Most importantly, don’t run and don’t retreat. Don’t abandon the promises that God has given you without fighting for them because of the threat or rumor of a great war.
God has given you much. Given you many promises. But those promises were not just simply given, you are required to fill the space in the area these promises are and not shrink back from stepping forward. God is with you. No matter what happens on this Earth. That has not changed. You who stand with God and are on God’s side, serving His people and the people of this Earth. Occupy your space. The area God has given you authority. You are going to have to fight to keep it, to occupy it and make it real. (Your fight is not against flesh and blood.) You can do this.
